My first story was published when I was in fifth grade.

I still wasn't tall enough to ride a roller coaster but my fictional story about a magical adventure through the woods landed me my first byline in a children's book, which was made possible by a competition for elementary school students.

I've been addicted to writing since then. In high school I served as editor-in-chief of the newspaper for two years and competed in every journalism and writing competition I could.

I worked my way up to editor-in-chief of my college newspaper and wrote for any publication that would take me.

As an adult I've had my stories and photos picked up by CNN, Politico, The Associated Press and many more publications.
